I have a feeling many in the education space would vehemently disagree with your praise of charter schools. Charter schools further entrench the majority non-white underfunded schools in their position and the majority white flush with cash schools in their position.
The answer is not creating more choice. This just lets those with money win more and those with less money win less. The problem with education is its cost fundamentally. School choice means nothing if 90% of kids and parents can’t afford to go there.
What is needed is collective investment in our public schools. Investment from government, society, business, and others. Instead we get school budgets being slashed consistently every year for public education and then people wonder why there’s a problem.
