That’s why I like the Green New Deal. It’s hopeful and clearly the alarmist way of selling climate change isn’t working. If you tell people how inevitably bad things will be, they’ll either give up due to feelings of powerlessness or they will actively prepare for that future.

If we flip the script and talk about how much better will be if we do these things, then maybe the people who matter will be on board. If we talk about the tons of jobs available in these fields, the amount of economic and monetary growth that can be had in these sectors of the economy, and the better and healthier our country and the world will be because of it, then we might have a chance.
