Yeah it seems the news world is still trying to clumsily fit into business models that don’t fully work for them. It’s tough though to see what the right path is though. I would definitely be interested in the app you described.

I think there also needs to be efforts made in reinvigorating in the public the need to support good quality journalism. Finally, with the advent of twitter and other social media, specific journalists have gotten a lot of the limelight. I wish there was a way to support specific journalists that you like instead of settling for the whole publication.
